i like the concept for this challenge. the shallow dof works well. the poor lighting takes away from the image, however, and doesn't provide much impact.
compositionally, i think many users probably thought it was boring. there's not much going on, and it didn't seem to take a lot of creativity or thought in it's setup. while i can see what you're going for, in the end it's just a couple of toys on a smudgy tabletop. :(
best of luck in the future.

OK...Lets Go!!by danculwellComment: greetings from the critique club!
i think this is a great idea for the challenge. as to why it didn't score very well, i'm going to guess two things: lighting and composition.
a photographer friend of mine told me once that the absolute worst thing you can do in an image is unintentionally cut off someone in the shot. like, not capturing the feet of a person standing, etc. obviously you can violate that rule for dramatic effect, but in a situation like this it seems that the half dog in the foreground of the shot is pretty distracting and takes away a lot from the photo. had he been smaller or more in the background it might not have mattered so much.
the concept is great, and the action is wonderful to capture. i don't know if you considered it or not, but if your camera has a burst mode you could use that to get a lot of action shots and then delete those that don't work out. the jumping and the ears of the dogs on the right work extremely well for this challenge -- your best bet would have been to put the focus of the image on them.
finally, the bright sunlight washes out a lot of the detail. while it's not always avoidable, i'd suggest working on bringing out the colors of the photo more in order to give it more impact.
good luck!

Forever by DufusComment: greetings from the critique club!
well, judging from the ribbon there's not much to critique here. technically, it's an excellent photo with great lines, color, and composition. my only semi-negative thought about it is that i can see why some members would not think it appropriate for a "friends" challenge.
i think if the female's foot had popped up ever so slightly above the horizon that it would be more noticeable. otherwise, however, i think the pose is excellent.
overall an amazing capture. excellent work!
