The Pitchby rayg544Comment: I like your angle, it allows us to see the complete context of the game. Titled "the pitch", I would expect to see the focus on the pitcher or ball, rather than the three people at home plate. I'm ignoring that in my vote though - I try very hard to score only the picture, not the title. Also, this seems tipped to the right a little bit. |

Whoooshby mike_dComment: Somehow this action shot looks posed. Nice composition and focus, but it just seems too fake for me (apologies if it's actually candid). |

Kickfliping through contrastby J-AndyComment: The contrast may be a little overdone, the clouds on the right look unnaturally blocky. That said, I love the silhouette and the pose you captured. I also like this cropped a little closer, placing your subject closer to the left side of the frame and taking some off the bottom. |

The Swimmerby oscarmeyerComment: Interesting choice of crop and border. Being that close on top (I'm assuming to cut out the people in the background) may be better balanced by coming in from the bottom as well - possibly at the point where the lane divider comes into focus. Great timing for the capture. |

Practice Makes Perfectby meganoComment: Did you try shooting from a different angle so you're not aiming directly into the sun? Good point in the action to capture. |

Village Cricketby sunraygpComment: I don't think anything would be lost from this shot if you cropped off some of the empty space on the left..at least to eliminate the stray shadow. Decent capture of the action, though the picture seems a little washed out. |

Warming upby tjbel05Comment: Nice timing to capture the very beginning of his start, though in my opinion there are more flattering body positions a little bit later when he's started to move his legs. Aside from that, the dof and sharpness are excellent, and the composition doesn't detract from your image. Perhaps you could take a little off the bottom, but it works as it. |

By In a Blurby twmaxComment: Nice concept which works in some cases but I think there's too much to look at (esp. words) in the background, which hurts the effect here. Also you might want to include a little more on top so you're not skimming off the tops of their backs & heads. |

Lake Swimmerby BlackMamboComment: Excellent concept with an effective composition. The harsh contrast between the left and right side of his face hurts this for me, you may have been better off shooting from a different angle so it was more evenly lit. And perhaps you're camera's not capable of it, but I'd love to see a faster shutter speed on this to really stop the motion, it seems a tiny bit blurred. |
