It is always preferable to try and avoid cropping the feet off as this has a tendency to affect the natural ballance of an image.

This is a wonderfull capture through the columns.
To make this a truley special shot, I feel that another element needs to be in the image, A person between the pillars, or something in the sky..

The concept here is well thought out, Sadly, the people are distracting here, you need 1 peson to hold the attention, unfortunatly the 1 here has a rather odd pose and the partial friend isbetter of being no friend...

I like the composition here, however I have a concern over the link to the theme.
Grain in wood is not the same as granular,
Granular mean made of, or seeming like, granules, and unfortunatly wood grain is not granules.
I applaud the attempt to think differently, however for me they are as different as through and thorough.
