I AM THE LIGHTHOUSEby hotpastaComment: I am the walrus....nice to meet you.
The big white border does nothing for me. Interesting perspective. |

Sky Captainby workhouseComment: Okay, I've gotta get this out first- This is Cool.
Being a military buff this image really strikes me. Attractive woman, tanks and planes, whats not to like.
A couple of small criticisms. The wing of the C-54 at the top of the image vanishes rather harshly. I don't care for the chunk of building (arch something) above the tank (Pzkpw III, I believe).
EDIT: Hey you took my suggestions- I think thats about the first time its ever happened on DPC- for me at least. Just had to add this so people didn't think I had been looking at a different image. Message edited by author 2008-09-17 11:24:21. |

The Old Ferry Ticket Office Liverpoolby TonyUKComment: First, let me thank you for putting information into your comments section. That is always nice- and something I should do more of.
I like the image overall. Very moody. The leaning of the building pulls my eyes immediately to the left and out of the frame. You have a fair amount of repitition (sp?) on your trees. I can pick the same top out six times. A bit of a halo around the building. The processing is very nice and well thought out. Many times I'll sit down to edit a shot and have no idea where I am going and usually get frustrated, other times I know right away. This is well put togther so I am thinking you had a pretty firm idea what you wanted it to look like. Nice work. |

John Carpenter's - The Thingby DrAchooComment: Great shot. I have to admit that I wouldn't have linked this back to the Thing, but I still would've thought this was really cool. |

White Eleganceby JedusiComment: Catalina PBY. Sweet shot. I would've given this a ten. This is a fantastic image. I'd love to know a little of the story behind this shot- settings etc... |

Moxy's Lucky Streakby JaimeVinasComment: This is a surprising finish. Not because it isn't a good photo. Lighting is excellent, focus is spot on (I actually prefer this one to the remake), tells a funny story. I didn't vote on this challenge- I probably would've given you a 7 or 8 on this shot- when I paged through the entries I thought for sure you'd get killed by the "anything remotely suggesting sex is a 1" crowd, and the "if its not serious it sux" crowd. Congrats. There may be hope for DPC yet. :) |

"Life Of The Party" Got a Little Captain in You? by MollyComment: Hmmmm, not Fetor. That means I owe you a quick critique, well comment I guess would be better.
I like the image. There were a wealth of well thought out images in this challenge. The pose is great, the lampshade makes the shot. If the woody had just been posed with the bottle this would've been a six (rather than the 8 I gave it). I don't like the shadow at the bottom of the shot, and a smoother background (instead of the harsh transition from yellow to white). I think you're overall score was hurt by the abundance of funny shots.
Well done. |
