Flash, right? The light form a flash is so hard to control. I think the reason an on camera flash looks so un natural is that we humans are accustomed to light coming from above. The sun is overhead, our lights are inthe ceiling. So the beautiful girl, the inegmatic smile, the colorful hat, the negative space - none of that is going to make up for the flash in the voting. Also if I cover up the left side of the image to get rid of the distracting background, i lose the back half of the bonnet but I think her face stands out better. This exact picture, done with windowlight would be a stunner!

It looks like chocolate! Great shaape, great placement of the shape to create interesting composition. You are going to lose points for the harsh lighting and the glare on the highlights. What is a koru anyways? I'll come back after the challenge ends to see if there is more info about it.

Hmm - I just looked at a similar photo where the black and whote conversion was better. Your model has a penetrating look and, of course, she is gorgeous. Negative space is nice, off center subject is nice. But the BW has a muddyness that detracts from the effect.

Supurb black and white conversion - want to teach me how? Beautiful model, pensive gaze, perfect focus. I wish that her other eye was visible and not blocked by her nose. Does she love the portrait?? I like all the diagonals that make my eye crisscross back and forth, keeps me entralled with the image.

Wow - stunning! The cat is cute, the title is cute, the focus is PERFECT. But cute alone does not make a stunning photograph. Two things that make this image a ten are your skillful use of diagonal lines, and your careful control of the muted color palette. 10 without a doubt.

Oh my! Ten without a doubt. Iceland in twilight? Wonderful how the long exposure has smoothed the moving water and left the ice sharp. Terrific leading lines, makes me want to go around that corner into the light. Moon is a special touch. Oh, I hope this gets the high score it deserves and doesnt get marked down because voters have their monitors set too dark.
