St. Paul'sby KonadorComment: Nice try on the well known ribbon shot (or at least I remember it). It is hard to live up to the expectations when shooting similar/same objects as previous winners. Some people compare it to the original, others mark it down for the lack of originality...
I'll just comment on it my second impression: too much tilt. Tilt is OK, it works well in this shot, but I think that I would have preferred a lesser angle to the ground. Good luck with this shot. 8. |

paint it blackby ZeppKashComment: This 'black' could and should have been more black. This is light gray at best (comparing to the shades of gray present on every page, not a monitor issue here). Nice take on the common theme by the way. |

Isolationby kelmatComment: This one seems a tad overexposed, the roof, and the side of that hill. The frame also does not add anything to it, even though you matched the color to the color of the cabin nicely. |

Charleston Flowerby brayburnComment: I don't think that selective desaturation works that well here. One typically uses selective desaturation when attempting to bring out the object. You could have done all the same without making those flowers and leaves in the background so gray. It is now they that fight for attention. |

Maasai Childby bucketComment: Nice photojournalism. It could have been made better perhaps by kneeling down a bit, you would have achieved two things: 1) you would capture perhaps some of the surroundings of this little child, making the photo tell more of a story, and 2) you would make the child look less inferior if you took a photo from their level.
Good luck with this very good image. 7. |

Hummingbirdby StrikeslipComment: I know that you are probably proud of capturing such an exquisite shot of this little flier, but I would have preferred to have some context to this photo. E.g. what is in front of it, or somesuch thing. It would have been a 10. Now it is only a 9. |

gentle curiosity. by nostalgicComment: Perfect! Right place at the right time. A little too hot on the fingers, but I bet you did not get a chance to reshoot this one? |
