Summerby TranquilComment: Too much of the blurry grass on the bottom doesn't serve any purpose other than to distract from the main subject which is placed too high in my opinion.
Having the bunny rabbit in the lower-left rules-of-third position would have been much better. I.e. lose the right third and the bottom 4th and see how much better it could have been... |

Cockatooby WinkComment: It is the same bird. I like yours better than mine because the background is less prominent, and does not compete for attention. Good job.
(You do have that other branch running across its breast, somewhat ruining the photo, but that's just another reason for going down under again to re-shoot! |

jumbo-rock-3.jpgby suitenessComment: Excellent choice of DOF. The observer's eyes are slowly drawn from the textured foreground boulder towards the remote rocks.
You know that the image is good when it subconsciously invites you to explore it in details. |

Feeding the Birdsby WinkComment: Now you made me post my photo from the same lawn...
The city is just full of photo opportunities.

Sydney Marriottby WinkComment: AXA Australia is the other building.
Very difficult photo with wide dynamic range. Good exposure, given the dark sky and the reflection of the dark sky in contrast to the well lighted Marriott. You may attempt to selectively lighten the portion of the image other than Marriott, to bring the building forward some more.
Something like this:
ps. I hope you don't mind posting my edits here. Those are in my workshop, not publicly visible (except through the link from here). I'll remove it promptly if you desire so. Message edited by author 2007-06-29 00:39:44. |

jumbo rock_joshua tree.jpgby suitenessComment: This is the great example of why the rule of thirds works. It should be used as a part of a tutorial on composition.
This really tells something about the photographer - you have an eye for it.
Great job! |

Australian Pelicanby WinkComment: Beautiful capture of this beautiful bird. Technically very good. I would only notice the black feathers on its back being too black, but that's only after looking for something to criticize. |

Point Reyes Beachby psartComment: I love the vanishing horizon and the amount of saturation in this image. Looks unreal! |
