Desert in Bloomby edmengComment: I like the color and depth of field, but my eyes keep getting drawn to the closest flowers (the blurry ones) 'cause they're so bright. A shot from a higher position and with more sky would've worked better in my opinion. |

Daffodil Squareby bobccComment: I promised myself I'd give constructive criticism on everything, but I can't think of any. Let's be nitpicky... the middle could be sharper? I don't know. 9 |

Dryby ronaldfwComment: The color and background sharpness are great, but the subject seems "cut" by the crop. I really like the subject sharpness, especially when we have to work with such small image sizes. |

Bromeliadby oscarthepigComment: Tack-sharp, but some quality got lost in the resizing process. The color is nice, and in this case, I'm liking the lack of an interesting background. However, the shadow on it interrupts the lines and makes it fade out in that one part. |

nectarby laurie241Comment: Mmm, tasty! I like the abstract...ness (?) of the shot. The sharp part on the lower left distracts a bit, but not much. Nice color and great sharpness in the subject. |

Butterfliesby boone168Comment: Very interesting subject, though the background doesn't make the image as a whole very interesting. The color is great, and the frame works very well. |

Pellargoniumby burtctComment: I'm being really nitpicky here, but I feel like I have to give constructive criticism or else my comments are useless.
Just a few things - the shadow on the bottom-right distracts a bit, the highlights are blown just left of that shadow, and a background may have made the image a little more interesting.
I like the sharpness and the color a lot. |

orchid - oncidiumby bladComment: Very nice shot, though I'm not sure I like the frame/border. I'd normally prefer a blurrier background, too, but the way it goes from sharp to semi-sharp to semi-blurry to blurry works excellently in this case. 7 |

Primaveraby smudgeSMJComment: I'm having trouble with the composition and sharpness. A portrait-orientation crop cutting ~5% from the left edge and ~45% from the right edge would have worked much better in my opinion, as would have a wider aperture to make the background more blurry and give the subject more pop. Color is excellent. |

Binary; The Universal Language by Shutter-For-HireComment: I really like this shot, even though it's "yet another one using the through the drop" technique. I always like it when people use a known technique and make it their own. Very nice contrast, and insanely perfect water droplet.
Did you have to meter manually with that lens? I have a D40 and as far as I know, metering is limited to AF-S lenses, and focusing to internal-focus lenses (doesn't have an AF motor?). |
