This Ole House by kevrobertsonComment: This is a great example of being creative not only with the lighting but in addressing the "how" to accomplish something when you're both model and photographer -- congrats on your ribbon! |

washed ashoreby saintaugustComment: I'm a sucker for glass bottles, corks and grain ... I'd like to see the whole bottle and the shell doesn't seem to help (unless it's intended for context) but it's not distraction enough to stop this from being at least an 8. Well done. |

Granular Gardenby BlackDotComment: This is very nice ... it feels a little soft on my monitor but not such as to mark it down any -- 8 |

Granularity in actionby allankentComment: I like the stones against the sand and the coloring is very nice but I don't think it benefits from the 'tilt'. Leveled and shot in landscape with a bit more contrast and this would be much stronger -- for this viewer. Also, the shallow DOF works well here ... |

saltfallsby sacredspiritComment: Neat concept -- but it would benefit from a white balance adjusment and then some slight levels and curves tweaking. |

Propagationby Keith ManiacComment: If there's value in detail, this photo is nearly priceless ... very good indeed! |

At Last Light by PedroComment: Purists might find the coloring in the sky disturbing but for me it adds drama and tension. For a week now I've wondered if it might be DQ'd not because I don't like it .. but because as an entrant myself, I fear it. Well deserved kudos for reminding me how very much I have yet to learn! |
