I like this pose and setting the best, but you need to use either a reflector or a fill flash to open up her face. Also, a fill flash will add a catch-light to your girlfriend's eyes and the dog's eyes.

Or you could move her out of the shadow and face the sun if its not too harsh.

Also, her left side is darker than her right. Try using a reflector (or even a piece of white posterboard) to brighten up the side that's shadowed.

I think this is a great photo, but I interpreted the subject as the mask. Your title "Visage" reinforced this. If you had titled it "Milk on my mind" or something like that, that would have changed my perception of the subject of the photo and I would have given you a very high mark.

You've done a great job with this series!

I had a similar problem and realized that it was from mixed light sources. Flourescent lights will give a green cast, while the flash will probably look too magenta or red. Try using a CTG filter over your flash so you match the flourescent lights, or turn the flourescent lights off entirely.
