IVby nickdayComment: I feel like I don't have enough context to understand the story this picture is trying to tell. |

Naukuhby PhotologistComment: Seems I've seen something like this before. Whatever is to the right of the "I" is really distracting, if that thing wasn't there it'd be a lot stronger shot I think. It also seems like it needs a bit of clockwise rotation. I like the gradiated colors of the sky. |

Yumby TammerComment: I like the idea of having one stand out from the other with a bite out of it. I think the bite is the main subject and unfortunately it gets lost with the background.
Perhaps if you widened the angle of the shot and lay the single cookie down flat next to the stack on the white background it would have isolated your main subject more.
I like that you used side lighting to give the stack definition. |

Gold Dropsby CheerzComment: I can't put my finger on it but the subject of this shot is unappealing to me. Something about the color cast puts me off.
I like the reflections underneath and I like that the one in front has the light reflecting from it. If the other one in the same row (far left) didn't also have a lighter hue to it I think it would have made the front drop stand out and that might have been more interesting.
I think the frame helps this kind of shot and like it here. |

Let the game beginby jdannelsComment: I think the half of the photo from the cue ball back to the player is fairly strong. I like that the player is in the shadows and I like the ghost of the cue ball.
The glaring lighting from the over head lights kills this one for me though. Indoor lighting can be a pain but play with the lighting more and I think you'd have a stronger shot. |

09-09-09 Celebrationby LydiaComment: This shot just doesn't quite work for me - it seems too cluttered and for some reason the word "dirty" keeps coming to mind. There's no good resting place for my eye and I spend too much time trying to make sense of the photo.
I like that you did something creative. |

9 pralinesby hajekaComment: I find the chocolate dust to be distracting in this kind of close up shot.
I like the general idea and much of the setup. The lighter chocolate in front seems to be your main subject - try laying it on it's side to distinguish it from the others and giving us a chance to see the design on top. I'd also try moving the dark chocolate on the right of the main subject slightly further back so it's not competing with the focus of your shot as much. |

Eggs on saltby bob350Comment: I think the horizon in the background detracts from the shot - also it might have given your subject more impact to shoot from a higher angle.
I like the white on white and the strong side lighting. |

Crayonsby mljComment: Blurry focus and unflattering lighting don't help this shot. It's not quite enough to be abstract either. The reflection on the center crayon is also distracting. I'm also not sure why we see the edge of the box on the left but the crayons on the right are cut off.
I do like a colorful subject and the attempt to do something more creative than the tradition crayon/colored pencil shot. |
