Bear, Congratulations on the top 10. I loved this shot in the voting stage - in fact it tied with my top scores. Beautiful.

IMHO, your title actually takes away from your image. It comes across as an insult, questioning our intelligence. The image itself has a good composition, with interesting grains in the wood and a variet of sizes of particles to keep our interst. The focus is soft, which doesn't work in this image. The lighting works well in keeping the reflections down.

Magic Lens that converts Binary BITS to Letters

It's a great idea. The angle on the glass and the angle of the letters seem to be at odds with each other. It has the feel that something is off. Still interesting.

You'll want to review the tutorial on submitting images in order to utilize the full size and show off your shot to the fullest. I'm guessing that there is an interesting shot in there. I just cant see it from this image. Feel free to PM me if you need more direction on how to submit a shot that matches the original.

Comment:
While I don't feel that this image meets the challenge as well as some others, it is interesting and does imply that his life has been reduced to the bits and pieces that he carries and lives. I wonder how the voters will treat your image. As for me, it's close enough.

The glass container and the bright green background take this out of the ordinary category and give it some nice punch. It has a solid crop and distracting reflections are kept to a minimum.

Bits and Pieces of Hardware

Comment:
I can see the attempt was to have the tip of the drill bit in focus, while the background hardware is OOF. That part worked. Using the drill bit as the main subject doesn't pack enough interest to make this a really good shot. It's nice overall.

Interesting title. The image is very soft with the DOF off. I'd use a smaller aperature to gain more sharpness. The Ritz bit closest to the back on the background seems to be the sharpest focus. I would love to see the focus moved forward to the front of the "tire."

Your craftsmanship is good. The overall subject is not one I enjoy viewing, yet does make a point.

Interesting tiles. I've not seen any like this before. I like the contrast of white against red. The change of size from front to back works to keep this shot from failing. It's hard to created interest with a random group like this.
