I really like your subject matter. It would have been better larger, with the horizon levelled, and with a little more contrast. Maybe shot on a clearer day later/earlier in the day.

This image has a severe colour cast/haze problem. Normally this can be fixed easily in PS or similar using levels. In most cases Auto Levels will do the job depending on how good the original image data is/how well it is exposed. If you open this up in PhotoShop and go into levels, you'll notice that there is empty space on the left side of the histogram. By simply moving the slider to the right to meet the lower slope of the "hill" you can take out the colour cast - it works, I tried it. :)

I too like the shallow DOF but I think your sharpest focus should have been at the top of pin. Looking at the image I find that's where my attention is drawn and not to where your focus is the sharpest, inside the hole and to the left of it on the outside edge. The colours are great and composition is nice too.
