Whilst Afloat on A Boatby PangurbanComment: Hello from the critique club....
Hey nice fish... I like the composure. Your crop is nice. The texture of the water and the fish's scales is nice. The lighting, I think, is a bit bright on the fish's underbelly. Some color has been lost. Not a bad shot. Happy shooting. |

Nice finish. I have been looking at this shot for like 30 min and I'm sorry but I just don't see anything resembling a fish. I did not vote but I probably would have been one of those DNMC voters we all hate. On to the actual picture now. The shot is good for an abstract I do like it even though I think it is a DNMC. In fact, I could see this hanging on the wall. I like the flowing movements and the colors. Nice shot. Happy shooting. |

music manby jgirl57Comment: Hello from the critique club...
The 1st thing that jumps out at me is the lighting. It just seems off. I understand that this was at a music festival in a tent. The lighting can be hard to manage. I am sure that had an effect on your score. However, the subject is good and I like how you framed him into the shot using the microphone as "the rule of thirds". Happy shooting... |

rule of thirds VI-5by fngood83Comment: Hello from the critique club...
This is a good quality b&w. I'm not too crazy about the kids legs being wacked off though.I really like the stopped motion of the water from the water gun. Also your DOF is good and I like the subject matter. Looks like a good time. Happy shooting. |

Lake Thunderbirdby postoakinversionComment: Hello from the critique club...
1st Id like to say nice shot. I like how the water is very tranquil. You also have a nice sky with stars. However there is a small problem with the lighting that doesn't agree with me. The left bottom there are a couple of rocks that are sort of yellow. They really stick out to me. They should be lighted like the bottom right rocks. I know you were lighting it with an iphone and a long exposure. That sounds difficult to me. Anyway nice shot and it seems to have done ok in the challenge. Happy shooting. |

Sunday Morning, Under the Expresswayby LN13Comment: Hello from the critique club...
There is just something about a fisheye lens that I like. It is framed very nicely with the overpass. Also I love the kid in the foreground. That adds a lot to the pic. This works well as a b&w, however, the background is a bit bright. Some detail has been lost there. As far as the rest of the shot there is plenty of detail. Happy shooting. |
