Cabbage Apple Queenby posthumousComment: Hello from the critique club...
Don, You got beat up on this image. The first thing that I thought was this pic is strait out of the 70's (that would not hurt your score from me). I do like the foreground with the nice leaves. I also think that the light is too harsh on your model. The framing is good but I would love to know what she is holding. Overall I would say OK pic. I would have given it a 5. |

Alone With Oneselfby JakeKurdsjukComment: Hello from the critique club...
I must tell you....I am not a big fan of abstracts (grainy pics), however, I do like this. The bird (I assume its an egret)really draws my eye. The water in the foreground is nice. Even though there is a lot of grain the trees are nice and crisp. That is very nice. Overall I think it is a nice image. Keep it up. |

We can't resist to that....isn't ?by clickodakComment: Hello from the critique club....
ok the 1st thing I saw was the motion blur. As noted in your previous comments....That was prob because the person holding it was unsteady. Also in this case I think the hands are somewhat distracting.
On a different note... you chose an excellent subject. It matches the challenge perfectly. I did not vote on this challenge but if I did I would probably give it a 5. |

Let the sparks flyby KMcCComment: Hello from the critique club.....
This really is a very nice shot, and I think your score showed that. The lights (sparks) dance nicely through the image. In fact, I would have been nervous about getting hot slag on my camera / lens.
Overall nicely done. Keep it up |

Breeze that blows through the windowsby clickodakComment: Hello from the comment club....
You chose the perfect setup for the "wind" challenge. I can almost feel the breeze coming in. This was a difficult challenge to enter but you hit the nail on the head.
I like the contrast between the white and green curtains. I just would like to have seen a little light...(not much) in the room where this was taken. I think that would have added more detail to the curtains.
I did not vote in this challenge but I prob would have given this a 6. Good job |

like a hurricaneby posthumousComment: Hello from the critique club....
Overall a very nice shot. There are a couple of things that pop out at me. To me there is too much editing..(if there is such a thing) I like being able to see detail, however, I really think there is too much detail in this.
The reflections are nice and the subject matter is awesome. I also like the amber look of the shot. Keep it up |

Winds of Innovationby Ja-9Comment: Hello from the critique club:
Very difficult challenge to enter. I do not agree with the comment below about not seeing "wind". It is an implied wind with the windmill. Nicely done in my opinion.
Being that this appears to be a fairly old windmill, the antique look of this pic really works together. Infact, my only negative comment (and it's not really negative) I probably would have liked to see less grain.
Happy shooting |

Old Gold Balance Instrumentby clickodakComment: Hello from the critique club
To be quite honest, I have been stumped on how to critique. I always try to inform the photographer of my views to help him/her improve. I feel that I can not do justice to you or your photo so I am going to ask someone else in the critique club to hopefully do a better job than I can.
Happy shooting |

Tomatoes factoryby clickodakComment: Hello from the critique club.
Interesting take on the surrealism challenge. I enjoy the simplistic approach you took with this. The DOF is good and the colors are good. Overall nice shot...Good job |

NY, NYby hstegComment: Hello from the critique club
Right now (infact, for the past many years) nothing speaks New York like the "Freedom Tower". Its an awesome shot. I love the long exposure here. I would have liked a slightly darker sky however. To me freedom tower looks like it is leaning a little bit...Still not a horrible prob. Except for the sky you have excellent lighting. Try this shot again with either a shorter shutter or later in the evening
Good job. I love it. |
