At a Crosspointby lbn24Comment: I'm torn about the empty space here. Some suits this subject well, but I think there's maybe a little more than I would like best. Maybe a vertical crop from the bottom of the slope on the left, and a corresponding amount on the right? I dunno. The colors are pretty and I like the subject very much. Even the trees in the background, which might have been distracting, just (to me) give a nice sense of context. |

The Beehive Shapeby KiwiShotzComment: What a dilemma. Go more panoramic and you have to lose height to meet the size requirement; a centered composition of this would be boring; and yet the way you've cut off the side makes it less visually startling as a shape. Still a very good image, and I think you chose the least of the three evils. (wish you'd left the tippy top intact, though.) |

Circle Gets a Squareby ginjerComment: Artistically, this is an excellent composition. I think for this specific challenge, though, if you'd found an equally compelling way to focus and compose it straight on, the shapes would have popped more. Nice work, though. I like the shallow DOF. |

Going in Circlesby dstrahinovComment: YES, beautiful. Perfectly composed, perfectly exposed, original and fun to look at. 10 from me; I can't find a flaw. Isn't it nice having things like this around to photograph? :) |

Wind Farmingby ZippyComment: Ooh yes. Very nice. Shame about the haze -- wouldn't it be nice if we could get our days to order when we wanted to go out shooting? But you've composed this beautifully. 8. |

In Perfect Shapeby messerschmittComment: It's a shame his lines are broken by the fence; this would be a great deal more striking as a full silhouette. The truck behind her is a wee bit distracting as well. Still, a nice image, and a good idea. 6. |

Flowerly Leavesby honikumComment: If I could see the whole shapes, they'd catch my eye better. :) Still, a lovely, lovely photo. The symmetry and color are very good -- although -- is the focus off a titch? Just as photo I think I'd give this an 8 -- considering that the shapes are incomplete I'll rate it at 7. I may come back and change my mind later. :) |

Dog Day Afternoonby mrmorrisComment: What stands out to me here is the sun and its reflective trail in the water; the dog is almost an afterthought to my eye, yet I assume that's the shape you're wanting me to notice. As an ordinary image I love this; the composition is great, the scene is pretty; the silhouette adds interest. As an image where the shape of the subject draws my attention, it lacks a little bit. 7. |
