High Altitude Intersectionby LoudDogComment: The saddle is at 11,700 feet, IIRC. Last time I was there, at this very spot, I had the worst AMS I've ever had, and saw the highest altitude helicopter evacuation I've ever personally witnessed (okay, sample of three, but even so, it was a nailbiter.) Oh, and on the way down the remnants of hurrican Xaiver rolled through.
Yeah, that sign brings back some memories.
That being said, I didn't find the mountain itself especially photogenic, so I think you were wise to focus on the sign and the clouds. The harsh mid-day sun at these high altitudes lends itself to excessive contrast, as seen in the edges of the sign, but overall you've done a wonderful job of composing to limit this effect.
