Doing that twist technique unscrewed an element in my Canon 24-70 over time and the focus really got soft. I just had Canon recalibrate and tighten up a loose element in that lens ($123 plus shipping) and it is as sharp as ever again. But it is a good City Streets technique - though a bit haphazard in getting a good result. I like this one.

A dark street, not only with regard to economy but also because it gets little good light. I have often thought it would be nice to see those lovely columns without the flag...
