Rho-Ophiuchus-Region of the Milkyway (IC 4604)by coliwablComment: Another great shot! I've been an astronomy buff since the late '70s - and this is a great shot considering the tough subject and tight field of view.
Too bad about the DQ, but this just adds fuel to the reasons why we need a "Space 'n Stuff" challenge. (It had to have DQ'd even before I could vote on it! I do not recall seeing this in the set, and I voted 100%.)
Advanced editing with a special rule allowing stacks. For those without a scope - any image that conveys "Space" - thinking museums, satellite tracks, star trails, Iridium flares, etc...
Keep up the great work!

you can leave your hat on...by IreneMComment: I didn't realize this was yours during the macro challenge - I stumbled across it this weekend.
A weekend or two ago, I decided to shoot similar, and became captivated with the colors. We have a version of such a thermometer, and I decided to lay it horizontally in the grass. The colors are so rich inside.
Altbough an odd angle, one of my favorite images for the color:

Maine_033 (Small).JPGby RayEthierComment: I really like the colors in this image - great shot. The style of this image is similar to the way wildlife painter, Carl Rungius (1869-1959), painted.
Well done! |

Other Plainsby KivetComment: I'm starting to believe that there were so many pictures to vote on in this challenge, that some of the really creative shots, like yours, didn't score as high as they should have. I believe this might have been because the voters couldn't study them long enough. (After all, over 400 entries!)
During voting, I inverted and then rotated your image - I wanted to see the original because it caught my eye, and that is when I discovered the brilliance of your entry.
My entry scored higher than I expected, and didn't put nearly as much effort into it as yours. Mine was more of a "creative snapshot".
Well done and appreciated!
Cheers,

Prismby AntimattComment: You caught my eye with this image - I like it and appreciate the effort!
I'm looking forward to future entries from you!
The voters were harsh and didn't understand it!
Cheers,

Fields Of Goldby TechoComment: Excellent result! Good composition. I especially like the reflections off the branches - presumed early morning dew, or late afternoon melt - could be either. |
