Lemon Dropsby slo007Comment: I think the image would have been improved if the water droplet was also in focus. Of course, it would have taken a couple of tries to balance the aperature to get it in focus while keep the background blurred. |

Dionysius is calling for his wine...by CharleneComment: Very good image. However, I am a little distracted by a few things. The black swirl mark in the background to the left of the glass is very distracting because it's only in this one area. I assume this is wrinkles in the fabric backdrop. The easy solution is to pull the backdrop flat and brush out the folds...it does take patience. You could also make wrinkles across the entire backdrop to give a consistent appearance. The next aspect of this image that is distracting is at the bottom of the glass. There is some type of unnatural halo. It looks like you added a blur to the entire image and removed it over the glass/fruit area. The correction to this is just to zoom in closer, use a smaller brush, and take more time to delete the blur.
Overall, this is a great concept and the image is well exposed. I encourage you to re-do this shot with my suggestions and submit this to the monthly free-study. |

Etherealby bodComment: WOW - you got screwed by the voters! I personally like this. I get what you were trying to do and I think you got exactly what you wanted. Congrats on that. It's too bad that people can't see past the normal technicals of photography and see the art/intention of the photog. What is even more ridiculous is that the only techniacal issue would be focus and it is more than obvious this was done on purpose.
Somtimes I just don't get DPC voters!
Great work. |
