DAY 8. B&W. aLi & katee ..by rozComment: I like the photos but when I look at the collection I see something else. To me this looks to tell a story that is more fractured and fleeting. (I'm not saying that about you or your family of course, :-))Part of the reason for that is the reduced opacity of some of the pictures which look like memories fading away. Really powerful technic. I agree with Jon, you really are a master at collages and story telling, which is a wonderful gift.

Blackbird Day 5by KatmystiryComment: THis one is really nice Kat. I like the simplisity of the shot, the DOF and the lines of the cattails all pointing up toward the subject, very dynamically placed. I also like the background trasnition (darker area down to lighter area) occurring 1/3 down and complimenting the placement of the bird. ONly wish is that it was a tad sharper, you dont have the metadata but I'm wondering if you shot this pretty wide open may have affected your clarity a bit. Only one nit-pick, the small reed on the bottom L corner just sticking into the picture. Great shot overall though.

path.jpgby dewdodesignComment: I agree w/ Melanie on her comments. The other thing I'd add is the postioning of the horizon line in mid-piture is very static and tends to leave the viewer saying "is this aout the sky or the land, sky or land??" I'd crop either up or down to have 1/3 sky and 2/3 ground for example.

flower2.jpgby dewdodesignComment: Agree, nice image, very nice colors, nice mix of very warm colors. I'd consider cropping down to just above the plant, you get rid of a lot of distracting bright areas that don't add anything to your main subject.

Pianista di piano barby Rino63Comment: Great capture, very moody, great detail on the main subjects. An interesting variation may be to crop down from the top, removing the bright lights and even some of the light on the picture and really focusing on the two main subjects.
Great shot though, Jack |
