Brainard Lakeby SandyPComment: Next time you're here, you should hike up there. There's a waterfall that will absolutely blow your mind. It's HUGE! Best viewed in early Summer though.
Love this shot Sandy. The textures and patterns in the ice are outstanding. |

Coal Countryby xXxscarletxXxComment: I've never seen a shot make it through with no comments. Quite the oddity.
At any rate, I really like this shot as well. It has a very subdued tilt-shift feel to it. Strong contrast and an interesting perspective, not to mention very creative use of PP.
Nice job indeed :) |

Captured From Another Timeby SandyPComment: I'm profoundly disturbed by this finish.
This is a portrait that any of the greats...the notable oft admired portrait photographers of our day or any other day...would be supremely happy to show in their portfolios.
It's an outstanding shot, Sandy...a masterpiece. |

Simplicityby xXxscarletxXxComment: even if those were shadows, I'd still like their inclusion. shadows are good....they add depth...no idea why so many people, including a couple I really respect, think they detract, because without that additional form this shot would be fantastically 2-dimensional.
of course, that's just my opinion and I've been told many times I don't have a clue what I'm talking about. *shrug* |

Texas Proudby SandyPComment: Really nice shot here Sandy...perfectly exposed. I find myself wishing that the flag were in a different position, meaning waving right to left for example, but that's just a minor nit. I like the implied framing with the trees. |

The Beauty of Whiteby SandyPComment: Great finish Sandy. The more I view this, the more I like it. A gorgeous shot and a well deserved high placement.
Of course, if you hadn't shamelessly used the word "beauty" in a vain effort to garner higher votes, than I'd be more complimentary ;) |

Captured From Another Timeby SandyPComment: I quite honestly cannot begin to express how much I LOVE! this shot.
It's just so brilliant. There's so much here to absorb. Her nose! My God, what a nose, lol. And that hair...it's deliciously old-fashioned. The structure of her face...I can't believe how flat her mouth and chin is, and the the rise in her nose, and the slop of her forehead. It's a face specifically designed for profil viewing. There's little details throughout her skin, but I particularly like the lines and textures in her neck.
Throw in the cigarette, and the retro feel of her blouse...I swear you shot this in 1947, or earlier. I may just have to request a validation, because I don't believe this woman actually exists :)
I demand a print of this, lol. |

Mountain Dramaby SandyPComment: Oh my...man o man do I love strong b+w landscapes. I just adore how sharp your foreground is here, while at the same time there's a very dreamy, misty...almost artifical appearence to the peaks. I mean that in a good way :)
It adds a real sense of depth, and communicates brilliantly to the viewer the stark differences in weather that can occur up there. It tells a real story Sandy, and that's a tough thing to do in landscape work. |
