You Gonna Finish That?by w4jzzComment: Back to comment: The colors of the cardinal are really nicely done. The image could use a bit of sharpening. I̢۪m not sure how experienced you are with downsizing images but most images get softer and require sharpening after they are downsized to DPC size. |

apples and dandelionsby timfythetooComment: Back to comment and bump: I'm not a real fan of the high key look here but I've looked at this image at least 4 times. Something keeps drawing me back (it couldn't be that look of pure joy could it) and this image is definitely starting to grow on me. 7 |

MY DOMAINby Gordon_1Comment: Back to comment: You captured a very lovely pose; however, the post processing doesn't look very natural to me. |

Monumentousby LonzComment: Back to comment: The exposure is spot on and the post processing is good. However, having the statue centered really makes the composition look static. |

[ D E P T H ]by ericwooComment: Back to comment: A bit over processed for my taste. The brightness of the foreground takes away from the perception of depth. Or it could be that the contrast of the background isn't as wide as the foreground and therefore the background looks flat. |

Lifeby ssanComment: Back to comment: I'm not a huge fan of out of focus foregrounds but it works for this image. However, I do find my eye constantly drawn to the orange blob towards the upper right. It is so close to the flower that is at the rule of thirds that it keeps getting in the way of the main focal point. |

Camoflageby GeeeComment: Back to comment: I have to admit that this image confuses me a little. The horse has a painting like softness to the focus, yet the snow on the ground just behind it is in focus. I'm not sure if you did some sort of localized post processing on the horse or what. Some suggestions for improvement: You might want to straighten the image a little. It looks like the horse is leaning to the left. Also, you might want to try a square crop to remove some of the negative space on the left. Normally, compositions are stronger when the negative space is in front of the animal to give the perception that it is moving/looking towards something. Since you don't have space in front of the horse available, a square crop will help balance the composition if the negative spaces are about equal on each end of the horse. |

New Beginnings...by L800LisaComment: Back to comment and bump: I really like the concept of this image but the execution falls a little short. I think where it fails is that you zoomed on the hands a little too closely. If the adult and child were a bit further away the image wouldn't look as crowded to me. I can see why you think this is a Gem and it will be a fond memory to look back upon as the years go by. The do grow up so fast. Thanks for entering this Gem. |

You want to play?by danielcheong1974Comment: Back to comment: Try desaturating the red channel in Hues/Saturation about 50% then bump the upper quadrant in curves to brighten a bit. It will look alot more natural. |

Adolescenceby LevTComment: Back to comment and bump: Cropping the left side of the image would have made this a 10 for me. Great B&W conversion. 8 |
