Just a little colorby NusbaumComment: Nice dynamic coposition - diagonal position helps that. Not that much of bokeh per my understanding of it. |

After the Rainby luvmyaussieComment: Attractive and interesting composition - to certain degree unusual. I have a feeling that exposure one stop lower would have better to show both pear and background - don't think it would have ruined bowl. |

Symphony of Lightby NeilComment: I love these small buds and "hair" backlighted, and very much colors of them matching with background and bokeh there - I think those areas are strong part of the image. But I don't like green leaves - their color is so distracting from the beauty of other parts in the image - even though I understand it is what nature created. I don't like even big flower. I think if you have focused on buds and background, opportunities to make exceptional artwork were better. This is the case when people say "you show what nature created" but you can "create your own". Sorry for "intrusion" :) |

Spring by svavaComment: Very nice simple composition - simplicity I thik is strong part of it. Would have been stronger if glass jar/bottle was against darker background to make more accent on it's color and diffrentiate from background more. Bokeh as I understand it is not strong. Good work. |

All sales comes to those who wait...Welcome to Africaby RianBotesComment: Unlike many other entries where word "waiting" is attached to image that otherwise has nothing to do with waiting, this one really conveys "waiting". Composition is good and from many aspects this is good photojournalistic or travel shot, but it's hard to predict how high it will go. |

Shadows on the Windowshadeby MaryOComment: I wish there was something more in this image to make it more dramatic. Maybe someone/some face on this side so that it is more explicit that hand "wants to grab" something. Or maybe shadow on the other side. I think if shadow of the hand was little bit more blurry (farther toward tree) would be better too (but that is more questionable :). And light visible on left upper corener is distracting. All that said, I very much like idea, and execution too. It's a great image - I just think you can make even better :) |

Close Encounters of the Thirds Kindby pointandshootComment: Excellent! First of all, light going through air and shadowy objects (trees in upper part) visible - very good exposure - things are enough light and enought dark to be visible and have details. Maybe not that much in the lower left, but here I think it is not that important. Composition created of 3 horizontal parts, and at the same time diagonally (left lower dark, upper right light). And details! Water drops! If someone expects to see shadows always casted on hard surface, then remind that shadows visible in the air are shadows too ;) Very good. Hopefully will manage to vote enough to be counted :) |

Afternoon sunby ladpupmoeComment: I think this is one of the best for this challenge. Pretty simple composition, but subjects are selected perfectly to show shadows and they are lighted well. Contrasting textures and forms works very well too. Maybe very dark spot on the leaf is too dark. Anyway, excellent work. |

Old Fenceby swm4lfe_2001Comment: Nice thing here is that whole length of fence has same inclination as close-up detail - this could work to make graphical composition. No so nice is that whole fence is not that visible - darker or more contrasty would make it better. |

Applesby photobuddyComment: Choice of colors is unusual and good, but I think composition needs something - other object? different color element? beam of light? - something that can kind of anchor attention. |
