TERR-SEYMOUR-DPC-001.jpgby jblaylockraynerComment: You see, I was thinking that you could have set up a reflector to do this shot... but, if you working solo, it may be easier to do what you did and that is use a softbox/flash.
All & all... I like the end result. You did a great job metering this shot. I see a lot of people who don't do this and when they use the flash the background looks muddy and washed out and the resulting image looks drab. Or, the opposite happens, the background is too bright and causes an unnatural trasition to the subject. This is clean, crisp and spot on.

Img_2116.jpgby luddeComment: I think being able to see the flickering of the flame would be cooler in this shot. Also, if you composed the shot just slightly to the left more I'd be a happy camper. All that aside... I like the shot. It would be interesting to see what you could create with such a shot with some post processing... you might even consider pulling the fire out of this shot to place it into another one you take down the road. :) |
