My guess was that you had another bottle and flower behind the light box, with a light casting its shadow on the back, the way a theater scrim is used to do silhouette backdrops.

Can't tell you how many people using the library public computers expect the keyboard to be the same as the phone. I heard that when push button phones first came out, the numbers were deliberately swapped, to prevent people who used adding machines from dialing too fast for the system.
