A good subject for this challenge, and some good light and detail in the deflating balloon. The characters add just the right amount of additional interest. Not so keen on the processing of the foreground grass and foliage of the tree - I find it quite distracting, nonetheless a 7 from me.

A really interesting photo of a culture different to my own. There is much to look at in this photo - although I am struggling with your title a little. Before I read the title, I thought that the photo was probably about Shabbat and the use of electricity - but that doesn't tie in with your title.

A pretty early autumn scene - detail is poor, but I suspect that is down to the 700px limit (I really struggled finding an image I could reduce the DPC size)

Interesting play of the manmade and the natural. Foe me, the road is a little too prominent - I feel a tighter crop from the bottom would still keep that contrast, but would remove some of the tension - but then, that tension might be what you were aiming for. 7

A super vista, with decent composition. Certainly interesting to see a part of the world I have read of, but in terms of the photo itself, there doesn't feel anywhere to rest my eyes.

Interesting, but the wilted leaves don't do a great deal for me visually. My eye is repeatedly drawn to the bright patch in the upper right. I suspect the a more visually appealing photo would have been a couple of weeks earlier when the bracken still held it's spores.

What super tree trunks! For me that is what the photo is about - it would work just as well in mid winter as in late autumn as it appears here. Excellent control of what looks like a tricky exposure.
