Wonderfully reminiscent of days when shots were more about capturing the spirit of the scene - than every hair on the persons head. Both have a place - but this is a lovely gentle timeless shot that is relaxing on the eye.

nice colours along the row of houses - it's almost like a string of fairy lights and works well against the simple colour palette of sand, sea and sky.

Love the writing on the road both leading us into the picture - but also intersecting the main flow of the picture by ninety degrees. Static meets dynamic, and a another counterpoint on the far pavement of the onlooker watching along the line, so we are left with this stream of cyclists passing through the middle of the picture, tense calf muscles and open mouths against a hot still day.

Very nice.
