a tribute to bucketby posthumousComment: This is Kari Ann, greetings from the Critique Club:
composition: I personally love the composition. it seems more natural than if it were centered in the frame.
color: great black and white tones, especially love the dark water
contrast: maybe a little less in the lower left hand side of the frame would help set the bucket off more in the frame.
focus: great focus, clear.
depth of field: again, good depth of field, and all is in focus clearly
lighting: those leaves and feather are what really draw me in. I love how they pop out of the dark abyss of the water bucket. And the light dancing amongst the straw is really a treat.
other: An overall beautiful image in my eyes. The only downfall that i can possibly see is the composition. while I like it, most probably would have liked it more in the centre. to each their own. Keep up the interesting and inspiring work.
If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me anytime.

A few of my favorite shoesby leematthewsComment: This is Kari Ann, greetings from the Critique Club:
composition: The shoes are a little too far to each side of the frame. either more space on the sides, or less space in between would have created a better composition.
color: the colors are very vivid and alive, very good job at controlling them so they arent too overbearing
contrast: good contrast as well, nothing is too rough or too soft
focus: As i stated before, more concentration on the composition would help significantly the focus of the photo.
depth of field:love the use of the wide aperture, throwing almost all of the background into bokeh, great idea
lighting: the lighting seems to be the curse and the savior of this image. the lighting is beautiful, but it is also blown out in the middle of the image, distraction the viewer from the shoes. which is the main focus of the image.
other: an overall interesting idea, but a little more preperation and thought would have put this image over the edge more and produced a better outcome. I hope to see more of your work here on DPC. If you have any more questions you are more than welcome to PM me.

Gateway to the Heavensby spiritualspatulaComment: amazingly beautiful black and white. the lower part of the image leads the eye directly to the mountains beyond, and are beautifully crisp and clear. Great work. |
