Silky-smooth winds of a spring nightby abhinabaComment: I have no idea how you can show a wind in a photograph like this...but, in my opinion... this wasn't it. Looking at the photo for 5 minutes knowing what it was supposed to be gave me the feeling of movement of the branches. But, other than that... it just looked out of focus to me.
However, I do like the photograph for it's aesthetic feeling of softness and comfortability. (6) |

Awakeningby suitenessComment: Now this is what a still life should be! I love the silkiness of the water as well as the mirror-like reflection. This photo was very well done as far as focal clarity, depth of field and balance. If anything...I think maybe I might have liked the blossom to have been a bigger part of the photograph... but I have been accused of being strange before! :) Good shot (8) |

Etuis (nee Sows' Ears)by GeneralEComment: The color and depth of photograph are splendid. However, I don't get the impression of 'silky-smooth'. I do like the selection of colors, the clarity and the arrnagement which, if nothing else... is silky-smooth to the eye. (6) |

Pequest Mansion Fallsby skewsmeComment: Extremely nice shot! I have always enjoyed the smoothness of using a long exposure with rapidly falling water... and this is a perfect example of it. The whole shot shows thought, clarity, DOF and balance. Truly a wonderful shot! (8) |

The photographerby heidaComment: Wow... I love this photograph! It has a sorta Norman Rockwell feel to it.
If you ever decide to make prints of this available, please let me know. Or if you could send me the original (before resizing) print, I can pay you for that and then make my own print. I would like to take it out to 16x20 or larger.
This is an excellent photograph. You deserve to be proud! |

Hoops In The Park At Duskby EssAreDubyaComment: Nice shot, but even though is at dusk, is still too dark for my taste. I know there are ways to manipulate the camera in order to bring an early nighttime effect to the shot without losing definition and clarity because of the darkness.
Otherwise.... great shot. Loved the angle from which you took the shot...wouldn't have had anywhere near the impact if you had been on level ground or even below the line of sight.
Great job! I would have given this an 8 but for the darkness I dropped it a point. This decision will haunt me... |

Sundanceby BradComment: Beautiful timing! And a great decision to go for the silhouette look. (9) |

Some Men Can Flyby hotpastaComment: Please... let me know what sport this is after the voting is over. Looks like soccer...but they are trying to catch it with their HANDSS! I grew up in an era where soccer players were sissies. Oh if I only knew then what I know now.
The picture is a great one... and you are right...some men CAN actually fly! (8)
Seeing as a couple of people took umbrage to my calling soccer in the 50s and 60s a sissy sport... it was only my conception of the sport back then. I have since gained a LOT of respect for the sport and thus, my comment..."Oh if I only knew then what I know now." Sorry to all I upset. Was totally UNintened!
