Niagaraby juliejoldComment: Hey! Very nice, I've been there once or twice. I like the long exposure during daylight hours...nicely done! |

La Tour Eiffel - France by MelethiaComment: Don't be modest. The composition, angle, duotone processing...all absolutely perfect. An iconic image of an iconic location. Very, very well done, and a big congratulations on the Blue. |

The Albino Stare by VitaminBComment: Ho-hum. Another Blue for Brad. It's getting to be old hat by now, innit? ;-)

Portrait in the Forest by jegerComment: Wow, very nicely done Jon. That score is something to brag about, and 47 "10's" has to feel good. I think you win that hole. ;-) |

Other panther.jpgby bennettjamieComment: There is good focus on the mountain lion's face, and the shallow DoF is nice.
However, the overall image is lacking in contrast (play with the curves and levels), and the white balance appears a bit "blue", or cool, to my eye. Maybe if you cropped as tight as you can, before losing any detail, and then played with a warming filter. A Photoshop plugin like Topaz Adjust of Nik Color EFEX might get you some interesting results.

Royal Treatmentby heavyjComment: I don't get it...you've listed the 7D as the camera, but a Nikkor as the lens. Who are you, MacGyver? ;-) |

Snowglobe Serenataby CNovackComment: The score from your commenters is high...well over 7.
Personally, I like this very much...as Deb mentioned, the low key nature of this image probably has a narrow DPC appeal, and might be further complicated by the quality or settings of many people's monitors. There is a terrific level of detail that would translate in to a nice print. Your model/daughter is obviously comfortable in front of the camera. I'm sorry you didn't score higher. |
