Love the colours, Karen. I think the whole scene suffered a bit of "blowback" from the backdrop...the edges of the bottle and glasses aren't as defined as they could have been.

Fantastic Strobist technique. Black may not have been the best colour choice for clothing, as very little detail is picked up, but the light and location are both sublime. Well done!

I do like the complimentary colours (the blue of the eye with the orange of the...rest of the image), but IMO this lacks some critical clarity. It feels like you were on the long end of the telephoto lens, and then did a mighty crop to get this close. I'm also guessing the homogeneous background is a result of a selection on the outline of the feathers....almost impossible to achieve with any image (again, only my opinion). Probably would have had a 5/6 from me.
