Chennai, India - City of Road Side Salesby amateurboiComment: This image has so much going on that I have a hard time letting my eye concentrate on the two salesmen. With such a crowd, it must have been difficult to simplify the background for any of the mutliple interesting subjects. Sometimes it is possible to get down low and isolate an object of interest against the sky. Unclear whether that would have been realistic here. Let us know what they are selling. |

McClintock's Lost Shrineby PedxerComment: A simple wooden cross near a wrecked car implies a sad tale of loss and sorrow. The table and metal stool complicate the picture, making me want to hear more about the real story. |

New York Fire Escapeby APComment: Interesting ghost-like effect of a semi-transparent smoker who perhaps has to hide to light up (and who hastens his journey toward death by doing so). I hope you reveal how you accomplished this. |

Doorway to Heavenby JudiComment: Sorry, but the first thought I have is to wonder how long it will take for someone to put text into that opening in the sky and turn it into a cartoon-like thought-baloon. This is a stretch for me to connect with the challenge description, but I guess it could fit if you envision heaven as a hidden city of gold up there somewhere. |

Off-Path Diningby Bernard_MarxComment: Definitely hidden, with a deep blue sky (whether from using a filter on camera or adjusting in post processing), and a relaxing looking place - although one that looks far away from any city. |

Merry Christmas - Union Station, Washington, DCby emaynerComment: I enjoy the geometric composition with the curved stairs and arched ceiling setting off the darker lines of walkways, handrails, and escalators. Those casual eating areas are not featured in magazines, but make up the hidden heart of a city. |

tucked awayby idpComment: The jumble of traffic and pedestrians contribute to hiding the Royal Society building. They help this meet the challenge, but I have a feeling of irritation at not being able to have an unobstructed view up the narrow opening -- perhaps the point you are making. |

The Gatewayby MAKComment: I like the range of colors as well as the combination of shapes. Looks like the street slopes down to the left, which gives an intersting semi-off-balance efect to the image. Nice find. |
