View from the South Ridge Trailby MaryOComment: This looks like an HDR to me. And while there are many times where I like that look the yellows on the left side are distracting me on this one. Specifically the bush/tree half way up on the left looks really grainy/artifacty to me. Also some of the foreground browns appear the same way to me. I really like the clouds and everything from the big trees on the right back, but the left and foreground really hurt that for me. |

If Ewe Only Knew...by bassboneComment: I hope this shot gets the scores and credit it deserves. This one is brilliant in my opinion. Framing is excellent and background does not detract from the clear focus of the shot. The grittiness of the wool is excellent but doesn't appear to be over sharpened either. Just a great shot. The toning is also perfect. Great job. |

Just me. by breadfan35Comment: I really like the use of negative space in the shot. I am sure you will get both good and bad comments on that, but I personally like it and think it adds quite a bit to the interest of the shot. I also like the way you have used the lighting to give it a more moody feel. Based upon how clear the triangle is I am assuming a Rembrandt set up. The triangle is just a bit wide for my taste (probably should only be as wide as the eye at its widest) but there will be lots of folks who probably won't even recognize the effort, time, and intentionality of the setup. Technically very very good. I would love to see your eyes give some feeling, but is for me is all about the tech work that went in. |

Gobie on whip coral (this is not an aquarium shot!) by MotekComment: Really cool shot. I can't wait to read where this is if it isn't an aquarium shot. :) I am not a fan of the border as the black of the border doesn't match the black in the shot. It doesn't impact my score but one of those things I would want to know if it were my shot. Great image and I look forward to reading about it later! |

Roman Pigeonby buffysneeComment: The B&W choice is excellent for this shot I really like the way it looks. Suits the image well I think. I a not as sure about the selective blur, but it captures the eye. |

The New Greenby bj0920Comment: A gorgeous butterfly. From a technical standpoint the focus looks off. It could be camera shake, but based upon the amount of light I am going to guess focus was just a bit off. I would also be interested to see i this is an extreme crop as that might help explain. Gorgeous butterfly and I know that it is so hard to catch one this beautiful as they are quick little buggers. |

Ben Nevis ( the NZ one.. )by dougi555Comment: This is gorgeous. Would make my front page easily. This is a fantastic capture. This is also a great example of how less is more. It would have been easy to over-process this but you did wonderfully with shot and processing. |
