For myself personally, I think this is very good. I would have loved to have seen some more highlights, lightness in the foreground, a bit of dodge and burn a leading light maybe?. Adjusting contrast and exposure in a different layer could have helped with this. The sky is gorg, I love moddy sky's. but saturation and boosting of the colours, would have made this tad more dramatic. But then again, I am a lover of the dramatic. I love how this is pin sharp, you did an amazing job on that. In a Free study I would have given this a 5, in this case as it is a top 2 for me, 7.

Personally, very good, I like that you used an old time colour with this, it does look like an old time photo. You have a leading lines, you have a bridge, lots of points of interest, you are sharp and it is clear. It just needs something. I think contrast, some dodge on the river to draw your eye a little more, some dodge and burn to make the buildings a little less flat, play around with layers, that way you can always ditch a layer without losing what work you have done. In a Free Study, this would have got a 4/5 from me as of right now, a 6

For myself, I can see a potential here. If it was cropped really tightly and had the outline of the pond only, then sharpened and contrasts added, I think this could have done really well. You would have the shadows and light playing out and really brought out the lily pads. In the Standard rules, you could have cloned out teh piece of concrete pond barrio and had the grass going down into the pond, That would have made it look more the other side. Sometimes when I am looking at a photo, I will go old style movie person and make a round tunnel with my hand and look through it and make it wider or smaller, to see if a crop would be a good idea. Sounds silly, but it works most times. IF this was a free study I would have given you a 2/3. As is for now a 5

Personally, I think this is pretty good, myself, I would have cropped it where that sunshine level starts, so just a short amount of the trunks can be seen and the rest water shadows. Maybe just a little contrast and a tiny bit more of saturation on the water, but other than that cropping this reminds me so much of ursula For a Free Study, I would have given this a 5/6 for now, it is an 8

It is a very bleak photo. Rather bland as well. I personally think, that if you are going to go for something like this, then at least have one point of interest showing through. Contrast could have been a good friend here, maybe a little dodging to brighten up something to catch the eye. Even cropping it to just the middle of the photo and having the snow, the trees with no houses and a strip of sky would have made this more interesting. Another option would have been to crop it at the tree trunk and just had the icy snow and the brown mud on the left, dodge the icy snow a bit and you would have a leading line to the brown snow, to show a path of interest that also translates to bleak and unforgiving. If this was a Free Study, I would have given it a 2 (sorry) for now a 4
