In motion out of whackby inuyashakibaloveComment by PapaBob: Originally posted by fldave: Although motion blur can certainly show "action", I don't usually see gym lockers very active. Nice color though. |
Although I agree with f1dave it can show the camera movement so this technique can be used but to be effective I would add something to the shot to so why the third person (camera) is moving to complete the story. You could add a person that appears to have pushed the camera person back or a spider causing you to jump to help lead the voter to the conclusion the movement was the camera rather than the lockers. Hope thwe information helps. |

Life with lavaby inuyashakibaloveComment by PapaBob: Abstract challenges are the toughest to enter, everyone has their own thoughts on what is abstract and what is not. The best way to get better scores in any challenge is to make sure there is no doubt you have captured the idea of the challenge that the majority of the voters will likely follow, in this case the item should be very abstract and not easily identifiable. Overall this shot is too clear and not real abstract which clearly affected the score. The exposure and focus are good but the subject is somewhat boring and centered with too much negative space on the sides for my taste. Good luck in future challenges. |

Life with lavaby inuyashakibaloveComment by vawendy: I've been using the definition: "Of, relating to, or being a style of art in which natural objects are not represented realistically." With this in mind, it doesn't seem abstract, IMO. |
