Bringing it tastes sweet!by connerhomeComment by connerhome: Thanks for the feedback. I agree with the poster who suggested a tighter crop, and I messed up by fat fingering when I saved it for the web - I had a couple hundred more pixels to use - I was in a hurry to beat the deadline. I would also have liked a shallower DOF but at F4, my 70-200 F4 that's about as good as I could get it from the dugout. I'll have to rent the F2.8 and I have a feeling I'll end up trading in my F4. That's my daughter playing first, so personally I don't think she's distracting at all :-)
I'm very pleased as this is my first try and I was hoping to be in the top half. There are some great photographers on this site. I've enjoyed your pictures, I've learned from you already, and I look forward to learning a lot more.

Bringing it tastes sweet!by connerhomeComment by Prash: Only one word. Personality! Well done. I would have cropped it a bit more tightly to avoid distraction from the background, OR I would have used a lower aperture (f-value) to cause more blurring of the background if possible. You get an 8/10. |

Bringing it tastes sweet!by connerhomeComment by Skip: nice stop action, but bad positioning by you...you need to find a spot to get the pitcher isolated, without any other players behind her. not always easy, but makes the difference between a good shot and a great shot. that's a tough moment to capture, as it is; you might as well make it pay off. |
