umbrella dancerby sadiebirdComment by Yo_Spiff: I like this. The dancer looks slightly out of place on the street, yet comfortable in the environment. Could be a pawdrix entry. If not, then please take that as a compliment. |

umbrella dancerby sadiebirdComment by Jutilda: I like this very much. I'm wondering if it would be more effective if the umbrella were either more saturated or the whole shot were converted to BW. I think the partial manhole cover on the left is a bit of a distraction but that's easily fixed. |

striped umbrellaby sadiebirdComment by hotpasta: nice use of umbrella...but the composition (placement of her head mainly) doesn't work...it needs a bit more space on the bottom and less at the top |

downtown dancer #3by sadiebirdComment by smardaz: you should branch out more often, i think the abandoned look of the building would be even more offset if she were more formally dressed in a ballet outfit with the little skirt (tutu?) |

downtown dancer #3by sadiebirdComment by ErikV: Nice location shot, I like that you have her placed in the center of the manhole cover. You might consider cloning out the three things on the wall towards the right, this will make for a cleaner shot that better emphasizes the geometric pattern of the wall. |

umbrella dancer #2by sadiebirdComment by raish: I've watched Michael Moore and I think her insurance company is going to use this as evidence against you.
Well done for getting someone to do something like that - and for thinking of it - nice work. |

umbrella dancer #2by sadiebirdComment by PennyStreet: Originally posted by sadiebird: Originally posted by PennyStreet: I have trouble believing this is a model shot. To me, to have this happen, it must be a candid. I really like the picture, don't get me wrong. |
nope, not a candid, although i agree it would be a cool one. :) i have a series of photographs that i shot with elizabeth dancing through the streets and alleyways of downtown. this shot in particular was my concept and styled to look exactly the way it came out. i'd never be luck enough to happen upon a ballerina in this pose. :) |
I didn't mean I doubted you. But everything about this is so beyond my realm that in my head the only thing I can believe is that it must be spontaneous. I've never had any experience with models but I imagine even they could be whimsical and fun like this. Again, I love the shot!! |
