There is a lack of clarity to this photo and I think most of it is due to the use of excessive JPEG compression. Your file size of only 58k indicates a highly compressed image and that is what is robbing a lot of the detail and sharpness from this image. Check your compression settings when you save your file. Always adjust JPEG compression so that your file size is as large as possible, but within the challenge limit.

I will probably be the only one anal enough about compression to notice that.

I like the arrangement of fruit overall (not sure about the item in the back left). The bowl and table work well together. Lighting seems a little strong/harsh.

Cute looking dog and good attempt to capture him - good dog portraits are a lot harder than they first look.

Perhaps this shot might have worked better if you had taken off his collar and tags, then got him to sit down and look at you ?

Oh and try to be aware of the background as well - that broken twig by his muzzle draws the viewers eye away from the main subject.

A handsome pup though and something has certainly got his attention :- )

This comes off to me as the average snapshot with harsh on board flash, I'm afraid. The dog looks unhappy as well. Sorry.
