I think the issue with this one is the lighting being a bit too harsh. Flash or just a strong light source from above (given the shadow under your chin) and behind your shoulder. I think that I might have cropped out much more of the background and perhaps, a tighter crop to get more just to your beautiful face and make that the focus of the shot.

Next time, try to get a bit further away from the background. In Advanced Editing, you could have cloned out what looks like a doorway trim.
