Thanks for taking time to comment. I happened upon this mimosa tree while chasing a sunrise to the river almost a year ago, and re-visited occasionally since. Went again on Easter morning, and was delighted to find the very beginning of this year's buds, with the sunrise in the background. Thought it fit, since buds are a beginning, as are sunrises, as is Easter.... Hope to get some more to share later. My first experience with this tree was with a Kodak DX6490, where I was trying out the 10x optical, and was surprised to discover how much fun it is to 'get intimate' with a mimosa blossom in full glory. *grin* This time, I have a new-to-me- Olympus C740UZ, and was trying it out on an old friend (the tree). The Kodak has a better resolution, but regularly requires the use of the sharing dock to unload its photos, and I cannot always do that in the field. Thus am hoping to move to the Olympus, to avoid that issue.

I think different croping would add to the impact of this beautiful photo. The sun and the plant are great, but the plant is way too centered.

I like the contrast. I think the tree on the left detracts from the overall effect of the photo.

love the colours and idea. only thing I would change is composition as bud is very central here and stick on LHS is a little distracting (need more or less of it maybe)
