In simple terms, this is just an unappealing shot. The dirty stove and burner may have some artistic significance to you but to me, it just looks like a dirty stove and burner. The shadow off the the left doesn't bother me, in fact I think it works better than if you had left the area completely white. Composition is ok.

I don't know what you are trying to say here. A dirty stovetop isn't the most interesting subject and the shadow on the left is distracting.

nice - took me a second. i wish there was no shadow creeping in on the left side though. and maybe the lid oculd have been centered just a little more with a nudge to the right on the element.
