The brown in the Dob's fur and the blue eyes don't really work for me in this theme. Film Noir equals B&W, rather low-key and hard shadows to me. Face looks also a bit out of focus. The shadow on the other hand is nice.

Very cool. The shapes of the wall hangings almost spell a word... L O S E R (just note that is not a comment towards you personally or to the photo you took, just what I see in it so don't get discouraged or angry as some people are prone to easily do.)

At first glance I thought the picture was completely out of focus but then saw the water in the background was sharper. I think you would have gained more if you had gotten the focus completely on the surfer or had a wider portion of the sea in the picture. Just the silhouette of the surfer might have also made things interesting.
