Defianceby brianlhComment by emorgan49: I prefer the duotoned version. The colors here are a bit cheery while the other has a bleak and hopeless feel to it. The moods are certainly different. The person here looks like a casual passer by where in the other he has a direct relationship with the sign because they are the same color. |

Portrait of a Lonely Pugby brianlhComment by ShutterPug: awww - what a sweet old puggy. I just love the seniors. They have a special place in my heart. One of mine has his tongue sticking out all the time - he's 16 years old. |

Beauty Beneath the Pierby brianlhComment by ShutterPug: ** Greetings from the Critique Club **
An excellent use of natural light. The softness of the light works well with the soft focus applied here. It was a little hard to pick up on the water at first though.
Congrats on your top 10 finish.

Defianceby brianlhComment by nico_blue: I like this better than the duotoned version. Just goes to show that duotone doesnt work on all images :-)
I really like the deep colors in this, i think they work well here. One thing thats missing from the duotone version is the texture in the blue sign that i really like here. I wish the person was a bit more apparent, on a quick glance the person blends into the background, but thats my opinion. Very good job editing from the original to get to here. |

Portrait of a Lonely Pugby brianlhComment by sheapod: This dodge and burn thing is completely beyond me but I will say I like this one better than the original, which was entirely too light. You managed to add a lot of contrast without making it seem unnatural...something I still have to learn. Great job. |

Portrait of a Lonely Pugby brianlhComment by emorgan49: Your editing has added a lot of contrast. makes the poor dog look older. I dont think any amount of editing could make him attractive, he has one of those only-a-mother-could love faces. Perhaps I wish that some of the brown could have stayed, instead of turning so much to black and white. But it is a nice artsy portrait in the final edit. |
