Möweby chanserComment by PenelopeK: Unfortunately the light in this image is quite flat. On my monitor there are no details in the dark areas, and both the mid-tones and lightest areas are rather dull looking. Not what I would expect to see in an Ansel Adams' photo IMO. There is something very majestic about the way this gull is standing though. |

Möweby chanserComment by dahkota: Good shot but there are no whites in this image. Adams made sure to cover all the zones. |

Möweby chanserComment by hahn23: Good seagull portrait. However, this is a flat image. The dynamic range is not wide. This would have been fine with more dynamic light bouncing around. |

Between Candlesby chanserComment by wehrmacher: Wonderful shot. It reminds me a quote from the wonderful movie Calendar Girls: A while ago I asked John Clarke to give us a talk here at Knapely WI. Annie asked me to read it to you here tonight, and this is what he wrote: "The flowers of Yorkshire are like the women of Yorkshire. Every stage of their growth has its own beauty, but the last phase is always the most glorious. Then very quickly they all go to seed."
This shot and model are definately in the "most glorious" stage.
Lovely. Simply lovely |

Harbour at nightby chanserComment by fadri: unfortunately no stars on the sky (like in the mountains) and a bit too noisy and too much of the dark sky. picture in general a bit too dark and a main subject is missing. nice scene though, seems to be an interesting city... |
