Beavertail Cactus Buds & Bloomby sfaliceComment by admart01: i like the juxtaposition of the soft flowers and pointy cactus (perhaps more dof or closer to get a better sense of the cactus) I'm left with the overall feeling that I'm too far away from the composition to really study it and "get inside" the frame. I'd suggest getting in closer |

Fiery Marigoldby sfaliceComment by Trinch: The photo feels like it's exploding off the screen. I think using a gentle light from the top/side would have served better. As is, the texture of the marigold is really lost. Furhter, the yellowish background provides little contrast to the flower. |

American Rhododendron Society Journalby sfaliceComment by Tallbloke: lovely. I have the feeling though that you just misse dthe light. The patch of sunlight upper right takes the eye away from the picture. I'm also marking all "landscape" shots a point lower as I don't believe they fit the challenge parameters |

American Rhododendron Society Journalby sfaliceComment by ccraft: Wow! This is an awesome shot. This is top quality and pitch perfect. I'm going to give you a high mark; however, you may find others will mark you down for having a horizontally cropped image instead of a vertically cropped image. IT seemed to be an issue in the last magazine challenge. |

Classic Shapesby sfaliceComment by Glen King: Neat idea. I think it might have more impact "head on" and cropped in on the right. Good exposure/color. |

Classic Shapesby sfaliceComment by OceanHunter: I think the composition would be better if the building was centered in the photo and the angle was straight on instead of from the side. |
