I think the shot would've been better with another light source. Maybe a light off to the side? The main thing that jumps out are two little lights, that is all I can really make out. I also don't think this fits the challenge, you could get a pic like this during the day as well.

It is a bit out of focus, but that could be due to the lighting you have here. I would suggest trying out different light sources and seeing what works best. Play around with different angles of light and different kinds.

Incredible closeup of a tender family moment in the animals' life. This is what NG is about. You can almost feel the smoothness of the seals skin. The texture of the sand on the seals body gives a feeling of grittyness. Excellently captured.

Beautiful composition. The picture reveals a underexposed sign. A common lack in this challenge. This happen because of metering system. In this type of pictures you need to target the horizon, setup the exposition, lock it, then recompose your scene focus and shoot.

Nice dof, good texture, subjects placed well in frame. A little more light on the pup's head might give some extra punch
