Hello from the critique club

An appealing image that meets the challenge

An interesting idea Fabio, generally well executed. I have to agree with your commenter I do think the image would be improved with a plainer background. The idea and the figure is cute, it makes the viewer smile which has to be a good thing. The shallow DOF at maximum aperture works well with sufficient detail where it is needed. The composition is good with some effective cropping and a nice diagonal it raises it to a higher standard its just a shame that the brightly coloured background feels somewhat at odds with the content.

Nice idea but I think I'd have preferred this with a plainer background.

An appealing image that meets the challenge

A nice high key portrait of ‘the cutest cat on earth’! I think generally you’ve done quite a good job here Fabio but unfortunately you’ve bordered a little too close to overexposure there are significant areas of the whites where you have lost the detail in the fur which is crucial for the image for obvious reasons. I do like your reflection in her eyes it adds a little surrealism to it. Thanks for your entry

Hello from the critique club

An appealing image that fully meets the challenge

A good and interesting choice for the challenge. Your composition is very appealing with the padlock nicely off-centre and leading us nicely into the soft-focus locking aspect of the draw bolt that retains attention on the padlock in an appealing way. The texture and weather worn look of the wood adds to the overall appeal of the image as a whole. Well done Faio

Hello from the critique club

An interesting image that contributes well to the challenge

Your image encapsulates the theme of the song well. Good props, I like your composition, focus and DOF it all works well together, the mono processing is good too. The text complements and explains the theme well. Sorry you didn̢۪t get any comments during the challenge, I hope this makes up for it, well done Fabio.

Hello from the critique club

An interesting image that meets the challenge

The pier is indeed a notable landmark that blends in well with the tones of the pier itself and those of the sunset and its reflection in the water. The composition of such a shot is determined by the structure itself and leaves little room for anything really creative apart from using the lower third, as you have done, but I̢۪m sort of wondering how it would have looked using the upper third with water dominating the lower half as opposed to the rather bland sky. It all feels rather deserted though I can see its not, I think waiting for a person walking their dog into the frame from the right would have livened it up too. Sorry for the lack of comments during the challenge Fabio, I hope this makes up for it.
