The pose on ground-boy is classic! Very tough lighting situation shooting from open shade into bright sunlight. The blown background only really detracts near the top where it shows through the leaves, IMO. It would take a pretty mighty strobe to fill this scene.

A different time of day could've allowed you to have under the tree lit up, and the background/water not so over-exposed. Otherwise a cute idea.
