She looks a lot my mom's cat! Lovely expression you've captured with those big wide eyes. Very good color, though there is a bit of color noise in the white of her fur, especially near her mouth. Not exactly sure what you do about that, though. Focus is a bit soft, but it kinda works here - makes for a gentle portrayal. You may want to try to keep her ears in the shot a bit more next time.

Well, you've got the technicals down - exposure and focus are good.

And they're pretty, but my eye just bounces around looking for something to latch onto.

One composition suggestion is to move the gap out of the center. And then maybe reshoot with something sticking through that gap? Even a nose by itself would add a lot of interest.

But, as the your title states, they are just colorful beads. There is nothing there, from a subject or composition standpoint, that really grabs me.

I *think* you want me to look at the white stuff? If that is the case then you've got to zoom in or crop right down to it. All the little bitty pieces of wood and the leaves in the upper left serve as visual noise and really caused my eye to search for what you were talking about in your title.

Also, you should know, DPC voters aren't a real patient bunch. They want pretty and they want it fast. I think fungus in the forest is cool, they won't. My free study is a similar photo growths that hold the desert floor together - they aren't impressed - the voters. So you and I need to go shoot shiny pretty things so they "get" it.
